Summary:

As a member of our Performance & Growth team, the Manager, Performance and Growth will join a group of individuals who are passionate about cultivating and nurturing team member engagement and success at AlerisLife and its operating divisions. The Manager, Performance and Growth will act as a learning business partner to our Field operations and will be responsible for ensuring that innovative learning and development and talent management solutions are in place for our Field teams. This role directly supports the ongoing growth and effectiveness of our team members, thereby enabling the achievement of business results.

Responsibilities:
The Manager, Performance and Growth will report to the Associate Director, Performance, Growth and Team Effectiveness, and will partner with key stakeholders across the organization to ensure that our Field teams have learning and talent programs in place that drive team member effectiveness, enhance the team member experience, and set the organization up for ongoing success.
In this role, you will ensure that robust learning solutions are in place for any variety of subject matter including orientation, onboarding, leadership development, skills-based learning, and compliance training. You will drive the development and execution of talent programs including performance management, talent reviews and succession planning.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for all learning and talent related programs, initiatives and new requests that impact our Field team members.
  • Ask probing questions and dig beneath the surface when training requests are received to understand learning objectives and desired outcomes.
  • Partner with instructional designer to conduct thorough needs analysis and propose relevant, impactful solutions that align with business goals.
  • Stay closely connected with subject matter experts and instructional designer throughout the design and development process to ensure the creation of learning programs that are engaging, relevant and that “stick”.
  • Collaborate with key stakeholders to include Performance and Growth colleagues, Field HR, and operational leadership to create implementation plans, develop supporting resources, and execute launch plans for learning and talent programs.
  • Act as the voice of the Field team member, from individual contributor to senior leader, when creating, reviewing, launching, and implementing new learning and talent programs.
  • Ensure that talent practices and L&D programs align to AlerisLife’s core values and business objectives.
  • Define and implement simple, yet effective performance management and continuous feedback processes, tools, and frameworks that support our value of always advancing.
  • Partner with Performance and Growth colleagues to design and implement talent planning framework and processes to drive meaningful development actions and continuous learning to elevate the quality of our internal talent pipeline and build organizational capabilities.
  • Provide critical inputs into the creation of our leadership development strategy and develop relevant learning solutions by leadership level.
  • Manage project and program design, development, and delivery, managing external consultants/partners, subject matter experts and key stakeholders as needed for sponsorship, guidance and governance.
  • Lead execution and continuous improvement of On-Boarding programs.
  • Source and manage vendors when needed for key projects.
  • Drive continuous improvement of learning and talent programs by establishing effectiveness metrics with business partners up front, analyzing and communicating results, and providing feedback and recommendations for ongoing improvement.
  • Prioritize concurrent projects to ensure on-time and accurate delivery of programs.
  • Establish and maintain collaborative relationships with key business leaders & HR partners
  • Educate and provide relevant tools and resources to equip the HR Business Partner team to enable effective delivery of performance and growth cyclical processes and learning and development initiatives.
  • Stay current with industry best practices to ensure our learning and development program continues to improve and grow.
Important Prior Experiences:
  • 5+ years of experience with significant accomplishments in learning and development or talent function(s).
  • Proven experience diagnosing, designing, and delivering complex learning interventions.
  • Success in building stakeholder support around talent strategies and approaches.
  • Experience in the retail, service, consumer industries and/or a consulting environment highly desired.
  • Experience working in a rapidly changing environment.
Technical and Functional Skills:
  • Expertise in talent management and learning and development best practices, adult learning theories, instructional design, program evaluation and leadership development.
  • Strong facilitation and coaching skills.
  • Leveraging and utilizing an ROI mindset.
  • Outstanding organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects concurrently and prioritize/reprioritize tasks based on changing needs.
  • Project management, vendor scoping and internal/external partner management.
  • Strong diagnostic skills (listening, probing, analyzing).
  • Ability to understand key business drivers that impact P&L.
  • Superior writing, editing, communication and presentation skills; ability to deliver messages in a concise, easy to understand manner.
  • Ability to build and maintain productive working relationships with cross-functional stakeholders and influence without authority.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office products, including Excel, Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
Education:
  • College degree
  • Certification in multiple coaching tools and assessments preferred.
