Location Information

Five Star Senior Living's corporate headquarters are located in Newton, Massachusetts. Just 20 minutes outside of downtown Boston, the building features easy access to public transportation and the Massachusetts Turnpike.

Key Responsibilities

Summary:

With a primary focus on Workday HCM and Finance modules the Senior Business Analyst ("Senior Analyst") consults with business and IT team members about complex initiatives and issues. The incumbent works in a global, cross-functional environment and designs, implements, and modifies multiple custom or packaged applications and reporting tools. Using various project management frameworks, the Senior Analyst identifies ways to streamline processes to improve quality and effectiveness. The Senior Analyst leverages IT-related best practices to deliver business solutions. The incumbent must be resilient and flexible in response to a rapidly growing organization with changing business needs.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide forward-thinking vision to collaboratively design cross-functional processes and solutions to business challenges.
  • Independently execute on complex configuration, reporting and other technical activities.
  • Present flexible, scalable and supportable options to stakeholders and help them vet alternatives that support project and business objectives.
  • Proactively identify ways by which IT can add value to business teams to improve processes and effectively communicate them to key stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with, and facilitate communication between, IT and business partners in order to drive change.
  • Demonstrate how new technologies, best practices and trends can be incorporated into business and IT processes leveraging a strong understanding of end-to-end processes.
  • Proactively estimate, plan, manage communicate and execute essential duties with a focus on the uniqueness of each project.
  • Maintain strong, ongoing relationships with business partners, project teams and other stakeholders.
  • Create or oversee the creation of clear and concise documentation throughout all project phases and activities.
  • Maintain SOX Controls, support SOX related activities to ensure compliance, participate in annual IT SOX audits.
  • Design and implement solutions for end-user adoption and productivity improvement, with usability in mind.
  • Partner with the business teams to share project information and validate test scripts. Will also perform and coordinate system testing and write and execute testing plans.
  • Design and deliver high quality training to end users.
  • Serve as a mentor and peer reviewer to other team members.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Able to work with functional groups and different level of employees throughout the organization to effectively and professionally achieve results.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills, including the ability to present ideas and suggestions clearly and effectively.
  • Strong organizational skills; ability to accomplish multiple tasks within the agreed upon timeframes through effective prioritization of duties and functions in a fast paced environment.
  • Able to translate technical material for a non-technical audience and simplify complex concepts for inclusion in documentation processes.
  • Strong track record of building and maintaining solid relationships with business partners.
  • Demonstrated flexibility in a fast paced and changing environment. Ability to react quickly and concisely.
  • Understanding of strategic business initiatives and demonstrated ability to translate how they operationally and tactically apply to projects and challenges.
  • Able to quickly and independently learn new business models, processes, tools and technology.
  • Able to negotiate agreements with stakeholders and influence decision-makers.

Education & Experience:

  • Experience with Workday configuration and understanding of:
    • One or more Workday Modules: Core HR, Payroll, Benefits, Procurement, Accounts Payable, Fixed Assets, Treasury and Projects
    • Workday Business Processes
    • Workday Security
  • Bachelor’s degree or related experience required.
  • Minimum 5 years’ professional experience in business analysis, application design, implementation, and support or as a super user preferred.
  • Experience supporting and maintaining SAAS applications
  • Familiar with SOX Compliance and supporting SOX Controls
  • Experience in healthcare or senior living industries, operations preferred.
