Five Star Senior Living's corporate headquarters are located in Newton, Massachusetts. Just 20 minutes outside of downtown Boston, the building features easy access to public transportation and the Massachusetts Turnpike.

Key Responsibilities

Summary:

The Information Technology team at Five Star Senior Living, Inc. seeks a Senior Endpoint Engineer to lead projects and initiatives relating to our diverse fleet of computers and printers, which includes over 5,000 Windows, Chrome OS, and Apple devices. This will include new technology and process implementation, development of new automated solutions, and advanced operational support for over one hundred and fifty locations across the continental United States. This role will work with business teams, leadership, and IT subject matter experts to set standards and develop endpoint-related policies and processes that meets Five Star’s business needs.

Responsibilities:

Technology

• Plan, design, implement, and maintain solutions that support the operational health of endpoints and printers across the enterprise

• Define, evaluate and approve endpoint configurations, including hardware, software, security baselines, and the “gold standard” corporate image
• Install, configure, support, and document new hardware and software releases from a wide range of industry leading vendors
• Proactively monitor and report on overall fleet performance, and take action to correct deficiencies and security vulnerabilities
• Create and maintain technical documentation including process workflows, operational procedures, knowledgebase documents, disaster recovery plans and training documentation
• Participate in a 24x7 on-call support rotation
• Provide the highest-level escalation expertise and issue ownership for endpoint incident resolution

Leadership & Communication

• Adept at presenting technical designs, solutions, and purchase proposals to an audience of varying technical knowledge, including corporate executives
• Act as the project lead for complex endpoint engineering initiatives
• Effectively evaluate new technologies and present compelling business cases
• Provide accurate, timely and meaningful updates on projects, change control requests, and operational issues in the environment
• Exhibit exemplary professionalism, pursue the highest technical standards, demonstrate initiative and resolve, while mentoring team members to achieve the same

Requirements:

• Undergraduate degree in an IT or computer science discipline, or equivalent experience

• 8+ years of experience in each of the areas identified below:

  • Windows troubleshooting and support
  • Printer troubleshooting and support in a large enterprise environment
  • Support of Microsoft Office 2010 and later versions
  • Documentation of standard operating procedures, policies, and engineering designs

• 5+ years of experience in each of the areas identified below:

  • Windows 10 support
  • Fluency with Powershell, including custom development of new scripts in the context of application packaging, troubleshooting, or other administrative tools
  • Application packaging with tools like SCCM, Orca, and AdminStudio
  • Active Directory architecture and maintenance
  • Maintenance and development of Group Policies in a complex environment
  • Support, configuration, and maintenance of SCCM, including deployments of applications and security updates, server version upgrades, and RBAC administration

• 3+ years of experience in each of the areas identified below:

  • Microsoft Endpoint Manager (InTune)
  • Microsoft Deployment Toolkit (MDT) or SCCM for imaging devices
  • Microsoft Office 365 deployment and support, including Teams and OneDrive
  • Working in a senior or lead endpoint engineering role
  • Management and support of enterprise antivirus and encryption solutions

• Skills:

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills for a wide range of audiences, including executives, business stakeholders, and cross-functional IT teams
  • Strong understanding of computer networking principles and troubleshooting, including fluency with routing, DHCP, and IP subnetting

• Preferred:

  • Experience supporting McAfee ePolicy Orchestrator, Adobe Creative Suite, and/or Oracle Simphony Point of Sale
  • Experience managing MacOS devices in Microsoft Endpoint Manager / InTune
  • Familiarity with VMWare virtual solutions
  • Experience implementing a major Windows version upgrade
