The Opportunity

Pay: $11.50-$14.70

The Certified Caregiver - CNA position is part of the Health & Wellness Team responsible for providing care to the residents. This position requires a combination of stamina, empathy, and compassion to effectively support the needs of residents.

What You’ll Do

  • Accurately perform and record vital signs, height and weight.
  • Accurately calculate and record weight gain/loss and fluid intake/output.
  • Maintain a clean and safe resident environment.
  • Recognize abnormal changes in body functioning and the importance of reporting such changes to a supervisor.
  • Perform palliative and post-mortem care.
  • Perform routine care rounds on each assigned resident, at minimum, every two hours (or more frequently as indicated).
  • Assist residents with mobility.
  • Assist residents with activities of daily living such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting.
  • Help residents maintain comfortable positions in bed or in chairs to promote comfort.
  • Assist with light housekeeping tasks.
  • Ability to respond quickly to medical emergencies and remain calm under pressure.
  • Responsibilities include customer service, administering medication, caregiving, resident safety and communication.

What You’ll Bring

POSITION REQUIREMENTS / QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent preferred; mandatory in some states
  • Must be at least 18 years old or meet the state’s minimum age requirement
  • Must hold either a CNA (Certified Nursing Assistant) or HHA (Home Health Aide) certification that is recognized and registered with the state of Indiana
  • Completion of at least 75 hours of state-approved training and successful completion of the competency exam
  • Must be listed on the Indiana Nurse Aide Registry or Home Health Aide Registry
  • Ability to take vital signs
  • Experience assisting residents with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs)
  • Medication supervision (within the scope of state regulations)
  • Strong emotional intelligence, listening skills, and commitment to resident care
  • Must pass all required state and company background checks and drug screening
  • Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English
