The Opportunity
Pay: $11.50-$14.70
The Certified Caregiver - CNA position is part of the Health & Wellness Team responsible for providing care to the residents. This position requires a combination of stamina, empathy, and compassion to effectively support the needs of residents.
What You’ll Do
- Accurately perform and record vital signs, height and weight.
- Accurately calculate and record weight gain/loss and fluid intake/output.
- Maintain a clean and safe resident environment.
- Recognize abnormal changes in body functioning and the importance of reporting such changes to a supervisor.
- Perform palliative and post-mortem care.
- Perform routine care rounds on each assigned resident, at minimum, every two hours (or more frequently as indicated).
- Assist residents with mobility.
- Assist residents with activities of daily living such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting.
- Help residents maintain comfortable positions in bed or in chairs to promote comfort.
- Assist with light housekeeping tasks.
- Ability to respond quickly to medical emergencies and remain calm under pressure.
- Responsibilities include customer service, administering medication, caregiving, resident safety and communication.
What You’ll Bring
POSITION REQUIREMENTS / QUALIFICATIONS:
- High School Diploma or equivalent preferred; mandatory in some states
- Must be at least 18 years old or meet the state’s minimum age requirement
- Must hold either a CNA (Certified Nursing Assistant) or HHA (Home Health Aide) certification that is recognized and registered with the state of Indiana
- Completion of at least 75 hours of state-approved training and successful completion of the competency exam
- Must be listed on the Indiana Nurse Aide Registry or Home Health Aide Registry
- Ability to take vital signs
- Experience assisting residents with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs)
- Medication supervision (within the scope of state regulations)
- Strong emotional intelligence, listening skills, and commitment to resident care
- Must pass all required state and company background checks and drug screening
- Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English
